Essential care for your clothes... and your Washing Machine!
Though renowned for its surface cleaning properties, White Vinegar�s is also an incredibly effective stain remover. Acetic acid, White Vinegar�s active ingredient, cuts through tough dirt & grime and its handy trigger spray makes for ease of application on even the toughest areas.
White Vinegar helps remove limescale and can be used in place of fabric conditioner; ideal for people with skin sensitivities. It will stop fluffy towels from going stiff and helps keep your washing machine healthy by fighting limescale and mould/mildew. Like conditioner, it will of course help prevent static. If you haven't descaled your washing machine recently, you should use citric acid to eliminate any scale that may have built up.
White Vinegar in the wash
White Vinegar can be used in the laundry room to:
Remove Stains. Simply spray it on to frequently soiled areas such as collars, cuffs and underarms. Leave to soak for half an hour before washing as normal to eliminate all traces of dirt or discolouration. It's particularly good on sweat stains under the armpits and on dirty collar marks.
Soften Fabrics. Add it to the wash as an inexpensive and perfume-free alternative to fabric conditioners. You can also use it in place of fabric conditioner to dissolve residue and hard water deposits on fabrics and in the washing machine.
Washing Denim Jeans. Jeans can fade in the wash. You may be able to lelp lock in the colour in some new jeans by soaking overnight in water and white vinegar. Wash separately, inside out and replace conditioner with white vinegar to minimise fading. Always air dry. More info on avoiding 'colour runs'.
Cleaning the machine itself. White vinegar can also be used to help clean the washing machine itself. Use it on the detergent drawer (internally and the compartment) and door seals as part of your washing machine maintenance programme.
